Humanoids, Self-Organizing Buildings, and a Big, Sexy Train

Good morning, pioneers!

2025 is upon us and I’m more excited than ever (I’ve got some big news 👇)!

Here’s what I’ve got for you this month:

Let’s get into it 🌳!

CONSTRUCTION

2025 is the year I leave operations

As I look back on 2024, one thought stands out:

The work my team and I have been doing over the last decade is finally paying off

For the past 20 years, we’ve focused on pushing boundaries in construction by:

  • Investing in new technologies

  • Building better systems

  • Rethinking how construction should work

It takes time to reimagine an industry that’s been around since the dawn of civilization.

And, I’ll be honest - it’s damn frustrating sometimes.

2024 was the light at the end of the tunnel. It was the year I started to feel a change.

I could see the blood, sweat, and tears we’ve invested over the last 2 decades coming to life.

It’s a surreal feeling.

Some of the highlights I’m particularly proud of are our:

  • Real-Time Construction Monitoring:  A monitoring and communication system which was specifically developed to ensure major construction sites are managed safely and efficiently.

  • Qtainer Technology: The digital brain for large construction sites. The Qtainer is a mobile EDGE data center that can quickly analyze and evaluate data and video streams on-site without high latency.

  • Digital Build-First Simulation: A digital twin of your construction site that depicts the construction model and underlying processes. Increases efficiency and accuracy, paves the way for the BIM philosophy on the construction site, and enables 4D process planning.

Seeing these innovations implemented is incredibly rewarding.

They’re proof of what’s possible when we commit to long-term vision and collaboration

That’s 2024.

So what’s happening in 2025?

Well, I’ve realized that now is the right time for me to take a step back from my operational role within the Rhomberg Group’s construction division.

Don’t worry, the Rhomberg Group is in good hands.

I’ve got an incredible team that I believe represent the future of the company (and who probably do a better job than I do anyway…).

I’ll keep an eye on the high-level strategy, but it’s their energy, vision, and expertise that are exactly what we need to carry our work forward into 2025 and beyond

I’m happy to leave operations in their capable hands and I’m excited to see where they take us.

I’ll introduce you soon.

Then the question is:

What am I doing with all my “free” time?

I’ll tell you:

1. Scaling CREE into a world leader

I’ll be working on a few exciting AI projects and looking how we can transform the company using these digital tools.

This is going to be especially crucial in the next 2 years.

We’ve already tested integrating the first humanoid into our process to learn and understand how it works.

It’s incredible what we can already do. For example, I could walk around a building site together with the humanoid and it would actively suggest improvements to our design.

Imagine what it will be able to do in 2 years 🤖…

2. I will deliver the first building that includes our integrated OS

I spoke about the concept and features we want to include in my August issue.

What I didn’t mention is that the OS will enable each building to manage itself.

The building’s AI will manage:

  • Rent prices

  • Building amenities and services

  • Tenant feedback and requests

  • etc.

It will take care of 80% of its own management.

And this will be a product offered by Rhomberg in the future.

3. I’m building my own Orient Express

Private jets are so 2024…

More on this soon 🚂!

2 predictions for 2025

2025 isn’t just about me. Here are 2 trends I think we can expect this year:

  • AI and Robotics: I believe we’ll witness the emergence of human-like machine intelligences (HLMIs)—machines that no longer need programming but can collaborate conversationally. Think Uni3 or the Optimus 2 with ChatGPT 4.0 or GROK together.

  • Market Challenges: I don’t expect the market to recover in the short term. The construction industry, like the automotive sector, will likely face another one to two years of recession. It’s going to be hard.

P.S… I’m looking for the right partner who shares my vision for Funkhaus.

Someone who lights up like I do when you read about my plan.

Sounds like you?

I’m open to talk 👉[email protected]

Disclaimer: Funkhaus isn’t for everyone.

I’m not just sending investment papers to anyone with deep pockets.

I want a partner who understands that Funkhaus is more than a good investment case—it’s a commitment to creating something remarkable.

Are you that person? If so, reach out and tell me…

What’s your dream?

3 things that I loved this month:

That’s it for today’s edition!

Greetings from the Funkhaus.

Cheers from Austria!
